I'll introduce 불국사(Bulguksa Temple).
It was built in 528 Gyeongju city the country Silla(BC57 ~ 938)
Silla's state religion was Buddhism.
불국(Bulguk) means ideal country in Buddhism. There is no greed, rage, foolish. There is only freedom. Silla people wanted to make their country 불국(Bulguk).
불국사(Bulguksa Temple) was enlarged in 751 by Kim dae-sung. When people die, people can be reborn in Buddhism. He made 석굴암(Seokguram) for his previous life parents. He enlarged 불국사 for his current life parents. He also made a daboh tower and Sakyamuni Pagoda. The world's first xylograph was found in the Sakyamuni Pagoda.
There were three countries in Korea Peninsula. Baekje, Goguryeo, Silla. Silla was the weakest country among the three countries. Silla people believed that their country was 불국(Bulguk). They made warrior party to protect 불국(Bulguk) from other countries. It was called Hwarngdo. It had much fighting power and It played special role to unify other countries.
In China, There was Tang Dynasty. It was the most powerful country in asia. Silla was his ally. Silla fought with Tang against Baekje and Goguryeo. Silla, Tang and the turk tribe were on one side and Goguryeo, Baekje, Japan were one the other. Japan was a friendly country of Baekje's. After Baekje and Goguryo were destroyed by Silla's league, Tang tried to dominate Silla. Along with the people of Goguryeo and Baekje, Silla fought against Tang Dynasty. Tang and north nomad people(They were notorious fighter like hun empire) made a party and attacked Silla but Silla succeed to defeate them.
Finally Silla made the first unified country in the Korea peninsula in 676. The weakest Silla made his country 불국(Bulguk). If you enter 불국사(Bulguksa Temple), you are in 불국(Bulguk). It is because 불국사(Bulguksa Temple) signifies 불국(Bulguk). I wish you all live in the world like 불국(Bulguk).
불국사(Bulguksa Temple) has been designated as a World Heritage since 1995.
