I'll introduce 창덕궁(Changdeokgung Palace). It was built by the king 이방원(Yi Bang-Won) in 1405. This Palace is in Jongno-gu Seoul city. Korean people built buildings matching with natural environment. This Palace is famous for its Korean Style Palace. It was usually used for shelter but many kings liked it so they sometime stayed here.
There is a Huwon Garden in this Palace. Common people could not enter this Garden. Only Royal family could. They read books, took a rest, performed ancestral rites in here. You can see Buyongjeong Pavilion whose two legs are inside the lake.
This Palace has sad story. The king 이성계(Lee Sung-gye) who founded the Joseon Dynasty made his successor Yi Bang-seok. His other son Yi Bang-won wanted to be king so he killed Bang-seok. After 이방원(Yi Bang-won) became a King, He wanted a new Palace since he didn't want to live in the place where he killed his brother. He made new Palace. It was 창덕궁(Changdeokgung Palace).
This Palace was chosen the best place to visit by people who traveled to Korea. 창덕궁 has been designated as a World Herritage since 1997.
